Below are selected examples of tableware made over a number of years. The forms, handles, glazes, and printed surfaces shift slowly over time, shaped by an ongoing dialogue between function, material, and image. My current work can be viewed in my online shop here.
Earlier pieces were made using red and black earthenware clays; more recent work explores lighter stoneware bodies. I layer glazes to suggest changing landscapes — traces of land, sea, and sky held within the surface.
My drawings are translated into on-glaze decals and fired onto the glazed surface, embedding the imagery into the work. While the pieces can withstand occasional dishwasher use, hand-washing is recommended to preserve the printed surface over time.
