I find time away from the rhythm of small-batch tableware production invaluable for recharging creatively. Much of the work below was inspired by a trip to Iceland — the black sand beaches, floating white ice against cool blue glaciers, and dramatic basalt formations drew me toward rich black clay and encouraged a more sculptural approach to form.
